BLURB
Greed and lust drove Mason to the scorching hot desert.
Greed – in the form of gold and treasure that lay in the fields beyond the majestic guardian with crimson eyes that could burn him alive.
Lust – to be the one to seduce the beautiful sphinx Arcadia, his sand goddess, in the hope of distracting her long enough to become the richest man alive.
Arcadia has other plans for the selfish intruder, and a lesson to teach about what truly makes a man rich.
EXCERPT
Mason made his way down the relentless hill, stumbling in awkward steps. Clouds of sand filtered in his ears, eyes, and nose. For the moment, he didn’t care about his pain. Everything about his beautiful goddess excited him, bringing his cock to a sharp erection. She’d caught his attention from the moment he first saw her, but everyone said she was unattainable. They said there was no way he could gain her affections--that it was impossible. Mason wasn’t one to back down from a challenge, especially where a divine creature was concerned.
When he’d first seen Arcadia, she had been a monument of power, sex, and fortune. Her very essence filled his parched lungs with renewed vigor. Since then, he hadn’t been able to stop thinking about her: the way it would feel to touch her and caress her stately mounds. The way it would feel to conquer her.
One day, she would be his and no other man would dare to look her way. One day, he’d be her slave and do anything she wanted.
Mason would indeed worship her. But only after he’d taken her into the mighty throes of passion and desire. And only after he had his hands around the large bricks of gold that waited for him.
As he trudged on, he thought of Arcadia’s special powers. They aroused him and frightened him at the same time. She was a warrior in many ways, but he knew she had a soft side. The trick would be in finding it. Her eyes, seen for a brief moment, were two orbs of scintillating gems. So powerful, they’d possessed his soul from the moment he’d first tried to run from their deadly glance. She took her responsibility seriously, not allowing anyone to pass.
Mason shook his head. He’d never forget that moment of panic when he’d first dared to cross her path. The heat had sliced through his left side and melted the top layer of his skin like butter, leaving him forever scarred. Rather than deter him, it made him lust for her all the more. ~Ann Cory |
