Just Released From A Forbidden Publications Author
The end of 2009 slowly comes into view, a new turn in the road of imagination has been taken.

A new contemporary romance from A.H. Scott has just been released from Hearts on Fire Books. Sometimes neglect can lead a soul to a place of uncertainty and unseen devastation.

"Spoiled daughter of a tycoon, Angela Carter Chase, had everything that the world could offer at her manicured fingertips.
Even with that, this feisty brunette wanted more."

- "Over My Head" by A.H. Scott

The question is, can that green grass be mold and not a fresh meadow of bliss?

Come and find out for yourself....http://www.heartsonfirebooks.com

May this season of holidays be one of Peace for all.

I have another contract signed
Noble Romance Publishing has accepted my anthology submission for their second spanking anthology, "Spank Me Twice"

This will be my sixth contract, bringing me right back where I was before Criminal Caress went bye bye with Forbidden Publications' closure.

This is a steamy, kinky read, and of course, it features spanking, but it's a story I certainly can relate to seeing as going for a drive through the country does the same thing to me as it does to my fiesty heroine, Mona.

I'll post cover pictures when I can.

Cheers To Rene!!!!
Cheers To Rene!!!

Although it's very sad in hearing that you are closing Forbidden Publications, there is something quite happy that must be said.

I may have had only one of my works, "Stroking Sahara", published by Forbidden - I want you to know I am forever grateful and humble at you taking a chance on me. It's not often in life these days that one is given a golden opportunity, as you've given me.

Thank you a million times over, Rene. And, may your world be filled with peace of mind, soul and body in future days. I raise a glass of sparkling ambrosia to you and say: BRAVO!!!!

Dogs are so smart! Seriously...

They really are. Think about this.

Thought for the Day

Handle every stressful situation like a dog.
If you can't eat it or play with it,
Just pee on it and walk away.

Now, don't you agree? {grin}

Romance, Erotic, or Christian...

Valentine’s Day is supposed to be for couples, but if you are a writer – why not give yourself a gift or ask your significant other to buy that in lieu of chocolates. Guaranteed these books will not add to your waist line. They just might give you some new ideas, for both writing and personal use. {grin} Below you will find some from my arsenal. I have shelves and shelves of how to books.

I was perusing my writing romance books for a writer’s group I founded and host once a month in my home. These writers are in various stages of discovering they want to write. Some haven’t decided what genre yet, some write sermons, or lesson plans and want to do more. Some are into genealogy and creative non-fiction, yet there are those who want to write mystery, suspense, plays, screen plays, Young Adult, Thriller and yes even romance. While most of these books would be appropriate for all of them. I think I would have to keep those below that deal with the erotic to myself. They are all full of good methods for writing however – so don’t shy away from a how to book just because it isn’t your genre.
I have found I learn from every manual I read.

How to Write Romance for the New Markets, by Kathryn Falk
Writing the Christian Romance by Gail Gaymer Martin
Writing Romances, A Handbook by the Romance Writers of America, Edited by Rita Gallagher, and Rita Clay Estrada
Writing a romance novel for Dummies by Leslie Wainger
The Easy Way to Write Romance, by Rob Parnell
The Complete Idiot’s Guide to: Getting Your Romance Published, by Julie Beard
The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Writing Erotic Romance, by Alison Kent
Secret Sexual Positions, Ancient Techniques for Modern Lover’s by Kenneth Ray Stubbs, Ph D
Extraordinary Sex Now, by Dr. Sandra R Scantling
The Bald-Headed Hermit and the Artichoke, an Erotic Thesaurus. By A.D. Peterkin. “Entertaining and very funny,” says Hustler Magazine.
Just so you know A. D. Peterkin is a Toronto psychiatrist and journalist. Kind of makes you wonder what beat he covers.
But if you are bored with the trite and over-used check this book out.

CATCHING UP A BIT!
Coming This Spring: Prophets Rest

For several years now, I have been lucky enough to publish through Forbidden Publications. Though I have changed genre, Rene has been patient with me as I grow and mature as a writer of fiction.

Most of my fellow writers with FP know that I am not the most prolific fiction author on the block. Indeed, I am very lucky to pump out one or two novellas a year. Nor, am I the most active promotionalist around. That I am trying to change and one day I may actually bring my blog and MySpace page up to date. That is the challenge before me.

Now a more cheerful subject; my new Western!!!!

Prophets Rest is a tale that pits Good against Evil to see justice served or die trying.

Tucker Prophet has been a Texas Ranger for more years than he cares to think about. As a teen he fought valiantly for his beliefs and convictions as the Civil War ground to a conclusion. Returning to Texas, a state bereft of any form of law and order, he joined the Texas Rangers and worked his way into a leadership position. Traversing the state from the Rio Grande to the plains of Amarillo and from El Paso to Texarkana on the Red River, with only a brother to call family and few friends; tracking down outlaws, rustlers and Mexican banditos for twenty years had finally begun to wear on him.

When his younger brother is killed in a stage coach robbery, he and three other Rangers set out in pursuit of the outlaw Billy ‘Gunner’ Farren and his gang of cutthroats. The four month chase leads the Rangers into the mountains of Colorado, where they find that the Farren gang has struck once again.

All four resign commissions in the Rangers and band together to protect the survivors of this latest attack that resulted in the deaths of peaceful homesteaders and the abduction of two surviving young women. A cat and mouse chase through the mountains culminate in a showdown to once and for all rid the west of a deadly predator; or die trying.

As with my other three releases, Kate's Song, Kate's Song: Awakening, and Showdown In Shadow Creek, this story holds elements of love and romance wrapped within the action and drama of the chase. Please watch for it in late March or early April.

Thank you all for your continuing support. I'm A.C. Croom and I write!

Heat level: Hot! Hot! Hot!

Check out my BOOK TRAILER!

And here's a great slow cooker recipe for good old Sloppy Joes! I'm making this this coming monday so that it'll be ready when I pick the grandkids up from school.

!. 3 pounds of ground beef
1 large onion, coarsely chipped (1 cup)
3/4 cup chopped celery
1 cup barbecue sauce
1 can (26-1/2 ounces) sloppy joe sauce
24 hamburger buns..

1 Cook beef and onion in Dutch over over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown, drain.

2. Mix beef mixture and remaining ingredients except buns in 3 1/2 to 6 quart slow cooker.

3 Cover and cook on low heat setting 7 to 9 hours or until vegetables are tender.

4. Uncover and cook on high heat setting 15 minutes until desired consistency. Stir well before serving. Fill buns with beef mixture.

Variations: Stir 1 cup drained sauerkraut into the mixture before serving. It will add a nice flavor twist, and no one will guess the "secret" ingredient.

This can be served also with rice or pasta. Or spoon it over tortilla chips and top each serving with shredded lettuce and shredded cheese.
