| Demon in the Basement claws its way to #16! |
Demon in the Basment was recently released on Fictionwise (http://Fictionwise.com) and has clawed it's way to #16 on the bestseller list of Erotic e-books.
While this surprises me because the story is rather dark, I'm ecstatic! | Birthday Celebration Contest |
In celebration of my Birthday, on 21 January, which starts in exactly 15 hours, 43 minutes and 16 seconds heheh but whose, counting. LOL I'm holding an impromptu birthday contest. It's a simple one really. All you need to so is send me an email at alinecontests @ alinedechevigny.com (No spaces) and tell me why January 21st is special for you? See simple.
Everyone who enters will be added into a draw and 3 winners will be picked 1st thing Tuesday morning (That's 22 January hehe)

Having worked the past few Christmases, Jennifer had been looking forward to spending this festive season with her family. But now she is stuck on-site, as all flights out have been cancelled! But maybe all is not lost. Perhaps she’ll receive a fabulous gift this year, in the form of Franko. He’s hot, she’s interested – and so is he!
Merry Christmas To Me is a fun, cute Christmas novella that will take little time to read but will induce much enjoyment. Jennifer is an intriguing character. She has been burnt in the past and is well known on-site for not sleeping around – to the extent that there is a running bet on who can get her into bed first! Franko is the only man she is interested in. He is fairly new to the site and as far as Jennifer knows, unaware of her existence. Except he is, and he is very interested in Jennifer. If only he can get close enough to let her know. Franko himself is a big man, in build and character. His protective instincts towards Jennifer were wonderful. Both characters have a part in the telling of the tale, which really helps the reader gain insight into their thoughts, actions and emotions. There is detailed intimacy between the characters, though not anything offensive. On a note of caution, there are spelling and grammatical errors, which did mar the enjoyment of the tale as they interrupted the story’s flow, hence a drop on the rating the book receives. Still, Merry Christmas To Me is a good Christmas quickie, with likeable characters and a believable, festive plot.

Shyanne continued to wander in the mist, completely lost. She was exhausted from running. The fleeting shad-ows paced her every step, but they never came fully into view. She needed to rest, to regain her strength; the shadows would not let her. In total despair, she flopped down on the ground and cried.
Her shoulders shook with every racking sob. She did not care if the things in the mist got her anymore. All she wanted to do was sleep. The sobs became less as she closed her eyes, almost making it to the land of dreams.
A voice, soft and distant, brought her out of her de-spair. Her head shot up. She knew that voice. It was a voice not heard in a long time. It was her brother, Drayco.
“Shyanne… Shyanne… Where are you? I can’t find you.” The sound came at her from all directions because of the mist.
“Here! Here I am!” she yelled with all her might. Shy-anne knew to stay where she was. If she moved, Drayco would never be able to find her. She continued to yell until a shadow broke away from the others. It took on the shape of a person.
“Drayco, I’m so glad you found me,” Shyanne said as she leapt to her feet. She put her arms around him, rest-ing her head on his chest. “I’ve been looking for you eve-rywhere. I’ve been so scared.”
Drayco folded her into his arms and replied, “I’ve been looking for you too, little sis.”
Shyanne’s heart sang with those words. She and Drayco were twins, but he had always called her little sis because she was so much shorter than him. She snuggled against his body. His mannerism was too stiff, too re-served. Sensing something was wrong, she looked up at him, their arms still wrapped around each other.
This was not her Drayco. She could see it in his eyes. They were cold and without life. His smile tilted in a sinis-ter manner. She tried to push away, his hold on her tight-ened. She could not break free. He grabbed her hair with lightning speed and pulled her head back.
“I’ve been looking for you too, little sis,” he said with the same ugly tone in his voice as was on his face.
The smile she had loved to see when she was a little girl now made her cringe. Drayco leaned toward her, his gaze locked with hers. She wanted to tear her eyes away from those horrible black pits, but couldn’t. Her brain screamed for her to fight. Her body refused to respond. A sharp pain ripped through her body as Drayco bit deep into her neck. Her lifeblood started to flow into his mouth. Something inside her finally broke loose. The trance hold-ing her disappeared. Shyanne started to scream and scream and scream.
